An uncommon expression as one of coffee’s most distinctive varietals, Laurina is a naturally low-caffeine Arabica varietal known for its delicate structure and limited cultivation. Its natural low yield and particular growing requirements make Laurina an elusively sourced variety within the specialty coffee selections.

From La Escondida of Jinotega, Nicaragua, we have selected this Laurina to present a remarkable revelation on how both varietal and terroir expression could present cohesively yet distinctly.

First sip initiates with a soft tartness of yellow plum and asian pear, followed by gently concentrated sweetness of stewed papaya. Through temperature, its body layers with depth of silky tea-like genmaicha, lending structure to the fruit before settling into the rounded sweetness of hazelnut syrup.

Natural processing deepens the fruit character while preserving Laurina’s characteristic elegance and finer aromatics. The result is an exceptionally graceful cup: light in presence, precise in character, and quietly persistent in sweetness.

A coffee for those drawn to varieties that exist beyond the familiar.
